    Summary: 
    The Children's Room in the South Tower of the Smithsonian Institution Building, was created by third Secretary Samuel P. Langley (1887-1906) as a natural history display area especially for children. Seen here is the large aquarium with live fish, some of the cases with natural history specimens of birds specially designed to a child's height, and bird cages. The room was intended by Secretary Langley to inspire children in the study of the natural world.
