Summary:
Ornithologist and sixth Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution (1944-1952), Alexander Wetmore at age 15 in his home in North Freedom, Wisconsin. Wetmore is seen here with birds, from his collection, with binoculars, and eggs sitting on a table. He holds on his lap a journal titled "Bird Lore." Writing on the back of the print states that the photo was taken "about October 15, 1901."
